Chef Vacancy - Full (preferable) OR Part Time available

The Dukes Seafood are excited to be recruiting a second chef.

This is an exciting role for someone to work alongside our highly distinguished current chef to create, prepare and serve our ever changing superbly fresh hot seafood menu, in a beautiful shore side venue.

We serve a restaurant quality menu, street food style, as well as providing bake at home ranges, our very own smoked range, and we pride ourselves on as many of our products being homemade and hand done in the shop as possible.

Working alongside a top quality fishmonger who will prepare the seafood to the highest standard, with the freshest of ingredients (a substantial proportion of the fish is caught on our own boat and landed straight into our fridges), you will be able to really show your skill and passion in this role, as we are always bringing new ideas and dishes to our customers and love any innovative approaches. There is also the opportunity to be involved with menu planning and dish development.

There is the opportunity for this role to be for someone who wants to work on the skills and passion they already have to improve them, with guidance from our current chef. For example, if you have the skills to cook with seafood but no official qualifications, or you have worked professionally in kitchens, but not with seafood. This would be discussed on an individual basis with applicants.

Desirable qualities:

  • Knowledge and passion of cooking with fish and seafood

  • Experience working in kitchens

  • Over 18

  • Flexibility with working hours including the ability to work weekends and evenings

  • Great customer service skills and a positive attitude

  • Ability to manage themselves efficiently and effectively during busy times

Hours and pay will be discussed with the candidate. Based on Coast Road, West Mersea, so must be able to get to us.

We are looking for this role to be permanent, but will be discussed with the candidate and reviewed after probationary period.

Salary: £21,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

Front of House Staff - Full or Part Time

The Dukes Seafood currently have vacancies for both a full time member of staff as well as part time staff. We also have seasonal roles available for college/uni students wanting to earn some money through the summer!
